G710 irons for sale

With the introduction of the Ping G irons, Ping continues the tradition of making golf easier and more fun for the average golfer by offering their longest and most forgiving iron to date. One of the strongest materials available to the golf industry for club faces beyond titanium is maraging steel.

9-1-1 season 1 episode 1

Each face of the G series iron is machined with variable-wall thickness to increase ball speeds around the whole hittable surface to help with those pesky mishits and keep ball speeds and distances consistent. Just like with other hollow irons from Ping, including the i and G, the face is only part of the technology story. The body of the iron is maximized to flex along with the face to assist in energy transfer to the ball while also being built to provide a solid and pleasant feel.

In the case of the G, it offers a five percent boost in MOI compared to the previous G, thanks to optimally placed tungsten heel and toe weights in the head. This further allows designers to actually shrink the head size while increasing forgiveness. The hydropearl makes the surface of the irons hydrophobic to improve performance through the turf and in wet conditions. The finishing process goes through two-stages to ensure durability.

This proprietary Ping-designed shaft is a no-upcharge option in the G iron. The shaft is the lightest weight in the Ping shaft matrix and produces maximum trajectory available in a Ping iron shaft. A more active tip in the gram shaft delivers higher trajectories and best matches golfers with slower swing speeds.

Data is the most valuable asset to any golfer to help aid in improvement. From PGA Tour pros to weekend golfers, the more you know, the more you can systematically improve on weaknesses. Ping, along with Arccos, wants to help by offering Arccos sensors with each club. Along with the sensors, golfers who purchase Gs will also get a free day trial of the app and eight additional screw-in sensors at no charge after the purchase of at least six G irons. The stock steel shafts are Ping AWT 2.

They are cast irons — yet they feel and perform just as well as a forged set. The Ping G iron set is no exception. Are they worth the money at this moment in time?

Luckily, our local driving range has a full cart of the latest Ping irons, with an assortments of shafts and club heads. You could say I overstayed my welcome demoing this set to give you an honest review and enjoy my time alone with this sexy set of irons. This is the very first time that Ping has released a black club head on an iron set.

The thing I like about Ping is that their iron heads are all roughly the same size and thickness. There are no huge, monster toplines like Callaway and TaylorMade release for their game improvement irons. The toplines of the Ping G are a happy medium between blades and game improvement irons.

Like I mentioned at the top of the article, they look like a players iron at address. Thankfully, they perform more like a game improvement iron. Distance: Ping is known, generally, for durability and forgiveness. The G is looking to change that, though. Forgiveness: The Ping G irons just flew off the face, no matter where you hit them. No problem… a little worse feel, but not a bad result overall.

I will say that this set of Ping irons results in a unique sound and feel. Not good or bad… just different. Durability: If you are looking for a set of irons to last you close to a lifetime, then Pings are the way to go. There is no question about it. Anyway, if you have the money and desire to have the best equipment on the market, this set is perfect for you.

Your goal will be to find a similar performing set for a fraction of the price. My recommendation? Check out the Ping G15 iron set. They were released 11 years ago!!! Thankfully, there are plenty out on the market in good shape with lots of life left. Actually, the real difference between the two is: a minuscule improvement in ball speed, a very different paint job, and a VASTLY different price tag.

If you can afford the best of the best, here is it in the Ping G iron set. If you want to save money, pick an older Ping set.PING has always thrived in creating products that deliver excellent distance and forgiveness, and the G irons are no exception. The updated construction of the G irons has increased MOI by 5 percent compared to the G irons to deliver maximum performance on mis-hits.

These irons also come with a new hydropearl finish with black PVD coating delivers a clean look at address and no glare in sunlight. Mid- to high-handicap golfers seeking added forgiveness and distance from their irons will want to check out the Gs. The G irons deliver a unique combination of technologies that ultimately generate explosive distance, stellar forgiveness, and accurate ball flights.

The strong, yet flexible, C maraging steel face is thin and precision-machined to deliver faster ball speeds and help launch shots higher and farther. The sound and feel have been enhanced in the G irons thanks to a new epoxy added behind the clubface in each iron that dampens unwanted vibrations. The stainless steel body includes high-density tungsten weights in the toe and heel that stabilize the club at impact, particularly on contact made away from the center of the face.

The new stealth, hydropearl finish with a black PVD coating not only looks great and reduces glare, but it also provides hydrophobicity to repel water and improve performance in wet conditions. Meanwhile, the finish also creates the perception of a smaller, more compact clubhead.

Once the neutral grip color code has been determined based on hand measurements, golfers may consider smaller diameter grips to help control fades and slices, or larger diameter grips to help control draws and hooks.

You Might Also Like. All Clubs. Two years ago Ping released its first hollow-bodied iron set, the Gfor mid- and higher-handicap golfers who want to hit the ball higher and farther. The company has now released the update to that club, the G, promising it will help golfers get more distance and be more forgiving. While the body of each G iron is cast from stainless steel, the hitting areas are made from hardened maraging steel.

Its strength allowed engineers to make it thin, and because the clubs are hollow, the hitting area can flex more efficiently at impact. Ping said the G creates the most face deflection of any Ping iron to help golfers generate more ball speed and more distance. Tungsten added under the hosel and in a screw piece in the toe area boost the moment of inertia.

Ping also added pieces of tungsten in the heel and toe areas to increase the perimeter weighting and boost the moment of inertia. Ping said the G has a moment of inertia that is 5 percent higher than the G, which means it should perform better on off-center hits.

What might surprise golfers the most is how the G sounds at impact. While the G irons had a chrome finish, the G irons are darker. The hydropearl stealth chrome finish reduces glare and repels water to help players get more consistent results and avoid fliers created by water on the face.

The darker finish also makes the G appear smaller than the G, even though the two irons are identical in size.
